If you are able to get out to Long Island City on Friday night (and also, if you are in NYC to begin with), Michael Pollan, the author and food sociologist will be speaking at 7pm for free. Pollan wrote The Omnivore’s Dilemma and In Defense of Food: An Eater’s Manifesto both centered on the really interesting debate these days about food production, ethics, and slow food/raw farming. I’ve been really interested in these things since my friend Tod, a food activist, rolled into town and got me all riled up about what really goes in our mouths. Could be interesting if you have a free hour or so after work.
Event info here.

+ organic wine tasting at Hunter’s Point Wines a couple blocks over. Golden.
